As one of the most respected designers in the U.S., Carolyn Shepard, AIFD, is the only Charlotte member of the prestigious American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD)  an exclusive and highly selective group of the world's most influential and honored floral design professionals, for over 28 years. 

 

For nearly 30 years, Carolyn has traveled extensively around the U.S., designing for weddings and special events, teaching floral design, developing new products, and showrooms for the floral industry, as well as creating designs for international floral design symposiums.

 

Her work has been featured on television, as well as dozens of industry journals, national, fashion and home décor magazines over the years,. Carolyn’s designs have garnered her national and international awards.   She was also chosen as the co-key note speaker with Martha Stewart at the Mint Museum’s “Art in Bloom” symposium, and she has also headlined with Preston Bailey, Sylvia Weinstock and many other wedding industry luminaries at national industry conventions.

 

Carolyn’s love of creating beautiful and unique wedding designs, her unique use of color and lighting, combined with her vast experience, and extensive inventory of amazing rental linens and decorative props, has made her Charlotte’s “go to”  floral and event designer, since she opened Carolyn Shepard Design Group, in 1998 with her late husband, Randy Baehre AIFD.  Her upfront, warm and genuine personality, making prospective clients feel relaxed, and at home,  and has won her rave reviews from  past clients. 

 

She is an avid foodie/cook, a mother, a daughter, fiercely loyal friend, and dog parent to Angus, the overly affectionate American Bulldog
